Recently I spoke at Business As Usual in Bristol in front of a mix of keen adventurers and impressive race veterans, including riders from Highland Trail 550, TransAtlanticWay and Transcontinental to name a few.

The evening was hosted by Katherine Moore, who I first met at the start line of Transcontinental in 2017. We spoke about my transition from on-road racing in the Transcontinental, to off-road in Italy Divide, Highland Trail 550 and onto Silk Road Mountain Race; including all of the bits inbetween - falling head over handlebars, the mental side of racing and that incident in Kyrgyzstan.

If you were unable to join us but were interested in hearing this story, we’ve posted the full film of the evening here. The film is just over an hour long, so if you’d rather stick your earphones in while you’re on the move (or on your bike!) we’ve included an audio only file below too.

I hope you enjoy my stories from the mountains! Any ultra endurance questions are welcome.

Hosted by the brilliant Katherine Moore at Business As Usual in Bristol. Here we talk about my on-road racing background, notably for the Transcontinental Race, and the transition into off-road racing earlier this year, taking part in races such as Italy Divide, Highland Trail 550 and Silk Road Mountain Race. If you have any questions about any of the topics raised in the talk, I'd be happy to answer them in the comments section below. Thank you for watching!
